Joy in the Mundane

Photography is just a hobby for me.  It's something I do on the weekends when I am not teaching or doing other various things.  It started out of a love for pictures.  I love pictures because they capture moments, a specific moment in time.  One that you will never get back, but with a picture you can have a snapshot of that memory or season of life.  Capturing a smile, a kiss, a special moment just brings so much joy to my heart. Pictures make people smile and making people smile is really fun! :)

Learning to use my camera has been such a blast as well.  Learning about the different settings, and components of my camera has been really tough but also really fun.  Being able to take the camera off Auto and make it do what I want it to do has been so amazing.  I got a new lens a couple of weeks ago and learning it has been really fun as well! I put the lens on the minute I got it in the mail and ran off to the backyard and started shooting!  Boy do I love this lens! Here are just a few pictures I took that day!

I found such joy this day.  It was simple, yet just what I needed.  When life feels busy, overwhelming and cluttered, get out and find something beautiful, even if it is an old can or broken baseball in your back yard...
